Busbar and Riser Supports System
The flexible design of the busbar/riser supports system allows a variety of copper bar combinations to be accommodated using a minimum number of standard parts.

The design and load-bearing properties of these moulded supports (material DMC G7B) in conjunction with the spacing between them, combine to resist the mechanical distortion created under short-circuit conditions. In accordance with the recommended assembly method and spacing indicated, the system has been type tested up to ratings of 50kA for 1 second (800A bars), 50kA for 3 seconds (1600A bars).

The method of securing moulding halves to each other and to steelwork utilises 10mm threaded steel rod or studs as appropriate to the overall dimensional requirements. These are not supplied. Busbar mouldings will accept four sets of bars, riser mouldings accepting three. However, the use of any support for any part of the busbar distribution circuit is not precluded providing the assembly and spacing criteria are maintained.
